In UltraEdit there is Advanced - Backup/Restore User Customizations to control which configuration files to backup and later perhaps restore. So perhaps you have changed your account or a program has deleted the directory or just the INI file. When you change your account, UltraEdit creates everything new for this new account (= new user on a computer used by multiple users). As you can see in Windows Explorer the application data directory depends on your account. When you copy and paste the entire directory path as I have written into the address bar of Windows Explorer and hit key RETURN you will see that directory containing all your settings for UltraEdit. It is located by default in your applications data directory which is %appdata%\IDMComp\UltraEdit whereby %appdata% is replaced by the value of the environment variable APPDATA. By default all UltraEdit settings are stored in an INI file named uedit32.ini.
